TEVTA, An Introduction:
Tevta was established by an Ordinance (No XXIV of 1999) issued by
the Governor of Punjab, which has since been superseded by the TEVTA Act (ACT X
of 2010) Punjab.
Statement of Purpose
Developing demand-driven, standardized, dynamic, and integrated
technical education and vocational training services to improve Punjab's
worldwide competitiveness via a quality and productive workforce
Objectives of TEVTA
- Promote and deliver technical education and vocational training in response to market needs.
- Consolidate and reengineer the existing technical education and vocational training system under a single management structure.
- To ensure horizontal and vertical mobility, create a vibrant technical and vocational training system.
- Establish a system of public coordination at the district level through Boards of Management, coordinating all institutions and their administration.
- Encourage local businesses to support TEVTA institutions' training programs by providing on-the-job training and career opportunities for graduates.
- Establish regular monitoring, evaluation, and feedback system for vocational training and teaching education in order to adapt efficiently to the economy's current and evolving demands.
- To maintain universality of Education and Training Standards, develop and oversee examination, trade testing, and certification systems.
- Prepare training strategies, programs, and initiatives while keeping the following in mind:
