The 18th Constitutional Amendment
mandated the establishment of the Sindh Higher Education Commission (Sindh
HEC). The Sindh Higher Education Commission (HEC) was founded in 2013 with the
purpose of promoting higher education, research, and development in Sindh.
SHEC's mission is to assist higher education institutions in serving as engines
of socioeconomic development and to improve the quality of higher education in
Sindh. Faculty growth, improved access, encouraging excellence in learning and
research, governance and administration, quality evaluation and certification,
and physical technical infrastructure development are all priorities for Sindh
HEC.
