About PTP KPK:

The TB program in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa focuses only on the province's TB burden, which is one of the province's most pressing public health issues. To combat the problem, the TB Control Program has used the NTP/WHO-recommended DOTS (directly observed treatment short course) technique. It is a community-based, comprehensive strategy that is integrated with Primary Health Care and other Health Programs.

The TB Control Program provides free TB treatment to about 25.051 million people in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, as well as residents of 7 agencies and 6 FRs, as well as the Afghan population. The citizens of the neighboring districts benefit as well. Through 225 diagnostic and more than 810 treatment sites, the province's TB control program is available to all residents. The program provides free sputum microscopy to all patients as a diagnosis tool under the TB DOTS approach, as well as for TB treatment follow-up. The strength of this program is the continuous provision of free TB drugs to all patients registered with the program across the Province.
