Sports Board, PSB an Overview:
The
Sports (Development and Control) Ordinance, 1962 established the Pakistan
Sports Board (PSB) as a corporate body under the Ministry of Education for the
purpose of promoting and developing uniform standards of competition in sports
in Pakistan that are comparable to international standards, as well as
regulating and controlling sports on a national level.
- The administrative responsibility of the Pakistan
Sports Board was then handed to the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and
Tourism in July 1977, when it was established.
- Following the devolution of the Ministry of
Sports in June 2011, the Pakistan Sports Board's administrative
supervision was moved to the Ministry of Inter-Provincial Coordination.
- PSB is the country's top authority for
controlling and promoting sports, as well as acting as an implementing
agency for government initiatives.
- PSB keeps track of affiliated National Sports
Federations' actions and affairs. The Board currently has 41 National
Sports Federations and three departments as members. Each Federation is in
charge of promoting and developing its own game or sport.
PSB
maintains a variety of athletic facilities at its Headquarters and Provincial
Headquarters, as well as Coaching Centers. These facilities are generally
utilized for national training camps and tournaments at both the national and
international levels. Furthermore, these services are available to the general
public on a regular subscription basis.
Pakistan Sports Board Jobs 2021Announced Positions:
Director
(BPS-18), Director PR&MM (BPS-18), Accounts Officer (BPS-18), and Assistant
(BPS-18) are all needed by the Pakistan Sports Board (BPS-15). In Islamabad,
Lahore, and Karachi, selected persons would be stationed. For a period of three
years, all of the roles are on a contract basis.
